Algona-- Saturday Sept 26th

This is the fall special and the last night at Algona. I started the heat race outside front row with what I knew was a good car. I didn't get the jump and made the first corner in 2nd. Being patient, my door opened and I took it and ended up winning the heat race. For the feature, I drew for my starting spot. I started 8th and being patient worked my way up to 4th. It was a good night and a great end to the season at Algona!

Boone-- Saturday

On Thursday, the guys and I decided to come home. The wives and girlfriends were happy and I was just as happy to see my two favorite gals too! We all hopped back in the suburban Saturday morning heading for Boone for the last time. I started the big show in 12th position. We started three cars wide and ten rows deep. The first couple laps I tried to be patient but still trying to go towards the front. About lap 8, I had gotten to the bottom where my car was fast all week and got caught up in a wreck! The car had enough damage where we were sent to the trailer for the evening. I wasn't upset, just disappointed because I knew we had a good car. Just to make the show was so much bigger than I ever hoped or imagined! I was so proud of all the guys for getting me there, for the love and support of Heather and Paige, and the fans who came to watch me race. It was an awesome experience that I will always remember and to make it into the big show as a rookie was huge!

Boone-- Wednesday

This is the last day of qualifying at Boone. Today I was lined up by my passing points from the two previous days. I was in 36th of 162 in passing points so I knew I had a chance today. The last chance heats had 12 cars and only the top two moved on! I started third and had a fast car. I ended up winning my heat race and got interviewed in the infield at the Boone Supernationals! I drew 6th for the qualifying A feature for the evening and that took the top ten out of that for the Saturday night show. I ran hard and ended up finishing 4th for the evening. So the next stop was the inspection tent. My friend Josh had the stuff in the motor compartment, Puffy pulled the axle and ran for parts and Dan Haugland and I pulled trailing arms off! After an hour at the tent, we passed and I was on my way to the big show at the Boone Supernationals!

Boone-- Tuesday

After getting to bed at 4am and back up at 8 we arrived at the track about 10:30 to get ready for the day. Hot laps were at 2pm again. I hit the track earlier today as the heat race was at 8pm. I drew a little better as I started 6th in the heat race. I worked my way up to the 3rd spot which got me qualified for the the qualifying A feature for the evening. My goal was to make one of these for the week. I started 20th and had worked my way to 11th and got caught up a little bit and finished 17th. Oh well, we have made my goal and I still have one night left!

Boone-- Monday

Today was the first big day of the week. We arrived at the track around ten am. Puffy, Dan and I got the car ready for the day. Hot laps were at 2pm. After that the waiting game began. My heat race hit the track shortly after 9pm. First lap a guy spun out right in front of me so we were already a half lap down. I ended up getting 7th in the heat race. The top 3 in the heats went to the qualifying A feature for the night. I ran a B feature at 12:30 and all that is for is the last chance stuff wed night. I started tenth and got 2nd. I was very happy and very tired but was happy with the first day performance!

Boone Supernationals! -- Sunday

After a long evening in Algona, Dan and I took off sunday morning for the inspection tent in Boone. We got there about 10 am and got the car unloaded. Getting in line of probably 100 cars already was not what I was looking forward to. Getting myself registered while Dan and my motor builder waited in line with the car we finally got to the tent. As they are checking the car over, they informed us that the motor was too far set back. Looking at it a little farther we found the motor mounts had twisted loose from the frame. So Dan and I headed to my friend's by Somers and pulled the motor out, fixed it and arrived in Boone about 8pm. So much for a relaxing day at the motorhome.

Busier than ever!

Taking us back to season championship night at Algona. I started the feature 4th and tried to be a little patient and got shuffled all the way back to 8th. After a caution I got things working back my way as I began working my way through the pack. We ended up the night one lap short finishing second and losing by half a car length. Good season at Algona, I ended up 5th in the points and was the 2009 stock car rookie of the year!
